Essie 'Chinchilly'

After going laquer-less on my nails more often than not over the past few weeks, I seem to have gotten back into the polish in a big way. I've always had a love affair with Essie so you can imagine my excitement when my boyfriend came home with a handful of shiny new bottles last week. One of them I've had my beady little eye on for a while now; Chinchilly...

First released way back in 2009, I don't know why it's taken me so long to get around to trying this. I'm not usually a huge fan of grey on the nails but there's definitely more to this shade than any similar ones I've used. A sophisticated mix of grey, beige and purple; there's something strikingly pretty about this subtle shade and I've found it to be a great alternative to more traditional neutrals. It actually reminds me a lot of Barry M Mushroom when applied, but with fewer brown undertones. There's something so grown up about a shade like this and, sandwiched between a good quality bottom and top coat, it lasts absolutely ages on the nails - what's not to love?
