I've become more than a little slap-dash when it comes to wheeling out the monthly favourites so I figured that a simple 'current favourites' post would be far more fitting. A basic round up of some of the bits I've been reaching for the most lately...
Lush 'BIG' Shampoo & Tresemme Texture Velvet Creme - I'm sticking these in the same category as once again I've fallen in love with the idea of messy, beachy locks this summer. After washing, my hair tends to be incredibly straight and too soft to hold any kind of style, so these two products are being continuously picked from my haircare stash in a desperate bid to add texture and grit. I've given up on the idea of achieving tousled, flowing waves without the use of heat but these at least give me a little extra body and some much-needed hold. The Tresemme cream can leave my hair feeling a little sticky if I use too much though - a pea sized amount is more than enough of this stuff!
Revlon Matte Lipstick in 'Mauve It Over' - I don't think my love of natural, nude tones on the lips will ever end and this is by far my top pick when I'm after a matte finish. I'm a huge fan of Revlon lippies in general as they're always so long lasting for a high street product and the matte collection doesn't disappoint.
Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch - I've bought numerous sample/travel sized pots of this now which seems a bit silly as it would be much cheaper in the long run to just invest in a full size tub! I love how luxurious this makes my skin feel; just a tiny amount is all I need to perk up my complexion a little and make a great base to apply makeup onto. I adore the scent of this and how lightweight it is too - perfect for warmer months when I don't want anything too heavy!
Gucci 'Flora' Fragrance - my boyfriend bought me this pretty floral scent for my birthday lat year and I've recently dug it out and started spritzing it again. I'm a sucker for floral fragrances all year round, especially in summer and I've been getting a lot of use out of this lately. If you're into the same kind of scents then I'd definitely recommend trying a tester spritz of this next time you're in the perfume department!
Neal's Yard Power Berry Moisturiser - I haven't been able to stop using this since getting it free with last month's InStyle magazine. The smell isn't really up my street (berry mixed with peppermint is definitely an interesting choice) but the hydrating power this stuff has more than makes up for it. I use it most mornings to give my skin a subtle glow and a healthy, youthful appearance. It protects my skin from the elements and does exactly what it says in the tin!
The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector - ok so I don't actually use this on my hands, but this stuff has been a saviour for me when I've been prepping my skin for summer. I have relatively dry skin all over my body so taking the time to moisturise and hydrate it all year round is key for me. This stuff tackles particular problems areas such as my elbows, knees and feet with ease; softening everything up and making my body that little more summer-ready!
