I hold my hands up to being something of a hoarder when it comes to cleansers. For someone who's skincare routine didn't venture beyond a packet of tesco value facial wipes a year or so ago, my collection of makeup removing lotions and potions has grown in immense proportion over recent months (may I add that I completely blame beauty blogging for this).
The Beautiful Skin range from No7 caters to multiple skin types and problems. The cleansing balm is aimed at those with dry skin who can find some cleansers a little too harsh, leaving their face feeling tight or generally lacking in moisture. It's a rich cream that has the texture of a moisturiser rather than a balm, but it can be applied to dry skin as a quick and easy way to dissolve dirt, makeup and impurities on the skin's surface. Although I do manage to remove a lot of my daily base with this my skin doesn't feel as squeaky clean as I'd like it to when it's used on its own - meaning that I always make sure I follow up with a gel or foam based cleanser afterwards. The concept of double cleansing in the evening is nothing new to me so I'm not that fussed as it's an extra step that I usually choose to carry out anyway, but I can see it becoming a bit of an annoyance for people who like to rid their skin of the bad stuff in one simple step. This does make my skin feel soft, smooth and doesn't have any kind of drying effect; it's just a shame that it's not the best cleanser I've tried. I'll definitely continue to use it as a first step in my evening routine and I'd recommend giving it a go if you do have dry skin - especially as No7 always hold so many great money off deals.
