The Music Edit #1

I've been away from my blog for a week or so now which is pretty unheard of; time has flown so quickly and I haven't meant to take such a long break - or any break at all really! The past few days have been such a blur as I've been travelling the 200-odd miles between my house and my boyfriend's house a little more regularly than usual; I'm pretty exhausted to be honest! Anyway, today is the first day in a while that I've been able to sit down and take a breath so I figured I'd spend my time catching up on bits and pieces that I've missed and getting back into the swing of things.

During my hours and hours spent on public transport this week (sigh) I've obviously been listening to a lot more of my iPod than usual and I thought it would be fun to do a little post on some of my favourite songs at the moment. I've never really spoken about music on my blog despite it being a massive part of my life and I love finding new things on other people's blogs, so I figured why not!

Foals - Late Night
Foal's new album comes out next week and I'm so excited it's crazy. I was a huge fan of theirs when they first came around and I kind of wavered interest a bit lately, but everything I've heard so far from 'Holy Fire' is ridiculously good. This live version of 'Late Night' has been on repeat a lot lately and if you like it you should definitely check out 'Inhaler' and 'My Number'; a couple of other single which have been released as a preview to the album.

The xx - Angels
The xx are a band that I have a little bit of a love/hate relationship with. Some of their older stuff I adore but recently I've been a little bit disappointed and a lot of their newer offerings leave me feeling a little bit 'meh' for whatever reason. I love 'Angels' though as it reminds me more of their old stuff.

Radiohead - Lotus Flower
Radiohead are one of my all time favourite bands and although 'Lotus Flower' isn't all that new, I thought I'd include it in the list because it's one of my favourites by them. As with a lot of their music this is hauntingly beautiful and is one of the most played on my itunes; for good reason!
