Transitional Skincare for Tired and Thirsty Skin

Tailoring my skincare routine depending on the season is a relatively new concept to me, but it's something that I've noticed has started to make a real difference. After a turbulent few months, my skin and I finally seem to be getting on again; something that I'm putting down to the small arsenal of products that I've been using religiously over the past few weeks.

Both my morning and evening routines start with the Temple Spa In The Beginning Cleansing Melt*. It's the most luxurious, pampering cleansing balm that I've come across - the small exfoliating beads melt into the skin and somehow feel as comforting in the morning as they do at night. After really long days, I like to leave the balm on the skin for a an hour or so to reap the full benefits. I've got back into the habit of following up my cleansing routine with a quick spray of La Roche Posay's Serozinc* - not least because my skin was being more problematic than usual. I can only assume it was due to stress, but Serozinc is the one product that I can always rely on to soothe and calm the skin in an instant.

Masks are a rarity in my routine at the moment. A couple of years ago I was regularly using 5+ different masks over the course of the week, which in hindsight only caused more congestion and irritation. Instead, the only mask I reach for now is the Grown Alchemist Deep Cleansing Masque. It comes highly recommended if you're looking for something to use every once in a while to give the skin a pick me up.

The rest of my skincare routine is completely Kiehl's-centric. I feel as though it's rare to come across an entire range of products that suits your skin, so as soon as I realised how good the results were from using Kiehl's products I kind of just ran with it. My beloved Kiehl's Skin Rescuer* is a must both morning and evening. I have dry skin that's prone to being irritated by heavy creams and lotions, so this lightweight moisturiser is perfect. It's gentle on the skin yet still provides a good dose of hydration. Finally, I finish with either the Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate* or the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate*. Both serums give the skin a subtle radiance and work brilliantly underneath makeup, too.
