I've never been a fan of highlighters. Of all of the steps in my routine it's been the easiest to skip, in fact I don't think I've owned any kind of highlighting product since getting rid of the Topshop Sunbeam powder a year or so ago. Admittedly that brash, yellow-toned shimmer probably wasn't the best introduction that I could have had to the trend.
Oddly enough, my most recent highlighter choice is also from Topshop. The Glow Pot in 'Polished' initially appealed to me as a cheaper alternative to the RMS Living Luminizer; a product that sparked my interest after seeing it appear time and time again on my Pinterest feed. Of the few highlighter formulas I've tried in the past, the cream options seem the easiest to work with. With this one, I simply pat the product between my finger tips before blending across the tops of my cheekbones for a little extra radiance. Flawless blending is a skill that I haven't quite managed to master just yet and I would advise against using any kind of powder in the area before application, but it's workable all the same. Polished is a flattering champagne shade that has definitely restored my faith in luminizers that aren't too warm for fair skin.
