A Giant Haircare Haul

I'll be the first to admit that I'm awful with my hair. I just can't be bothered, which in some ways is handy as the roughed up, bedhead look tends to be what I go for anyway. Even so, I sadly wasn't blessed with naturally thick, heavily textured hair.

Instead mine is incredibly fine. Sure, I have a lot of it, but it's fine none the less. The 'effortless' look is something that actually takes quite a lot of time and effort on my part, so I'm always on the lookout for products to help me get there faster. Bumble + bumble have been my haircare brand of choice for as long as I can remember, so when I came across a stand full of discounted products I embraced the opportunity to stock up on some old favourites. It also gave me the chance to try some things that I hadn't ever used before, including a standout shampoo from Ojon that I decided to throw in for good measure.

Bumble + bumble Thickening Shampoo & Conditioner

I've tried Bumble's Thickening range before and was never blown away by it. I actually remember the Thickening Hairspray being one of the first products that I ever tried from the brand and it left me feeling really underwhelmed. I've been using the conditioner a lot recently, but that's largely due to it being one of the few conditioners that I currently own. It hydrates and smoothes the hair, but for me there's nothing wow about it. At least nothing that would justify the price tag. That's pretty much how I feel about the shampoo as well, although I know that there are plenty of people out there who love them both.

Bumble + bumble Surf Shampoo & Conditioner

I find the Surf range to do far more than the Thickening range in terms of adding fullness and texture to the hair. I try not to use the shampoo and conditioner on too much of a regular basis as they do have a tendency to be a little drying, but they're what I keep for days when I really want my hair to look its best. Combined with the Surf Spray, they even allow me to eek a slight, natural wave out of my poker straight hair.

Bumble + bumble Surf Spray

Two years ago I wouldn't go anywhere without Surf Spray. I'm not sure why I fell out of the habit of repurchasing it, but I got through a good 5-6 full size bottles until I did. This time I got the travel size and it's just as good as I remember, particularly when spritzed into the roots for a little extra volume and texture. Even on days when I go without using any heat on my hair, it gives shape, hold and manageability with very little effort.

Ojon Rare Blend Infusion Shampoo

My first venture into Ojon products has left me so, so impressed. Of all of the shampoos that I bought, this is the one that I've been reaching for most regularly. I actually wasn't sure on it originally and worried that a hydrating shampoo would weigh my fine hair down even further, but I haven't had that problem at all so far. My hair just feels clean and full of life after I've used it. It also smells a little bit of maple syrup. Just FYI.

Bumble + bumble Thickening Creme Contour

Another product that I can't help but feel 'meh' about - maybe there's something about my hair that just doesn't gel with the Bb Thickening range on the whole. Honestly, I'm unsure what this actually does. I rub a tiny amount between my hands and apply it to the lengths of the hair as recommended, but the impact is minimal. I'm not even sure what kind of results I should be looking for. It smells great though and I'm debating using it to rough up my roots as opposed to the lengths - if I have any luck, I'll let you know!
