The Products I've Bought Time and Time Again

MAC Paint Pot in ‘Groundwork’

(Bought: 2 times)

The older I get, the more enamoured I am with the idea of one-step beauty products. It's been a long time since I last attempted any kind of layered eyeshadow look, instead opting for a quick wash of a single colour - and a little smoked out liner if I'm feeling particularly fancy. Groundwork is my product of choice for days when I'm looking to keep everything parred back, which again is getting more common as time passes. My most recent purchase from the Paint Pot collection was Quite Natural, a slighter darker and more matte version of this. Even so, I'd never be without Groundwork in my makeup bag.

Sanctuary 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask

(Bought: 3 times)

Masks and I have a fairly turbulent relationship. There have been times when my entire beauty routine has been shaped around them and, much like now, times when my skin can go weeks without seeing so much as a lightweight mask. The only one that I continuously keep stock of is the Sanctuary Thermal Detox mask (click the link only if you want a laugh my my feeble attempts at blogging many moons ago). I've tried masks 5x the price of this one and haven't been as impressed with their ability to draw impurities from the skin without even a hint of irritation. A must for fellow blemish sufferers, no matter your budget.

Esteé Lauder Advanced Night Repair

(Bought: 3 times)

ANR is perhaps the epitome of a hyped up beauty product, at least in my eyes. I feel like there are very few beauty lovers under the sun that are yet to try this and for very good reason - it's a do-it-all product that can be depended on to improve the look of the skin in just one night. Like a lot of products on this list I pick it up in fits and bursts, but even if I use this only the once I can notice a genuine difference.

Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray

(Bought 4 times)

So I cheated slightly on this one, but I feel like my transition to Surf Infusion from the original Surf Spray a couple of years ago is only a minor detail. Rough, textured hair is something that I try to achieve every day and, if it doesn't come naturally, Surf Spray is the product that I'd recommend above any other. Surf Infusion offers a very similar finish, but the slightly more hydrating formula means it's suitable to be used every day - something I couldn't do with the original. It was much to my dismay, as the formula really is great at eeking out a wave even in my poker straight hair.

Seche Vite Top Coat

(Bought: 4 times)

Before I used Seche Vite I'm not sure that I'd ever tried a product like it. I've always applied some kind of top coat religiously, but never one that promised to speed up polish drying time - let alone be effective at it. Seche Vite is one of my 'can't live without' beauty products, to the point where I once had three bottles on the go at once. I usually paint my nails before bed, so it's a god send to have a means of getting them dry in minutes without the possibility of ruining a perfectly good manicure with the prints of duvet cover fabric.

Estée Lauder Double Wear Concealer

(Bought: 2 times)

As someone with blemish-prone skin and a growing aversion to foundation, I think I can quite comfortably say that concealer is the most important product in my makeup routine. I've tried countless options over the years, and for me to make a repurchase before I'd even run out of my first pan really is saying something. I once loved the foundation for its ability to provide complete, undeterred coverage that didn't need touching up through the day. The benefits are exactly the same with the concealer too, only the ability to pinpoint specific areas of the skin helps the finish to look and feel substantially less mask-like.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

(Bought: 4 times)

It was this post from last month that reignited my love affair with Lash Sensational. Only when writing about it did I remember exactly why I'd purchased it 3 times before - and convinced myself to buy another in the process. I'm back to the waterproof version, which is one of the best mascaras I've ever used for holding a curl and adding serious volume. The original and oil blend versions are great too though, depending on what you're looking for.
