A Healthy, Happy New Year
Cliché as it sounds, one of my main goals this year is to get myself into better shape. I've never worried about my weight, but time spent working from home has definitely had an impact on how fit and healthy I feel. We recently got a turbo trainer, which allows you to ride your regular bike as though you were outdoors, indoors. I love cycling but have a tendency to feel a little out of my depth on big city roads, so spending time on the turbo trainer every morning is one of my priorities in 2016.
Using a greater selection of fresh ingredients is a big goal of mine, as well as trying to sneak a few extra vegetables into my usual recipes. In general I'd love to spend more time in the kitchen, too. Cooking used to be a great way to relax and unwind after a long day and I've become far too reliant on takeaways and ready meals this winter.
I've spoken about meditation on my blog before (here), but it's something that I've really let slip over the past few months. I'm determined to get back on track with it as I noticed huge differences when I was meditating on a daily basis, both in my mind and body. Regular meditation allowed me to sleep better, focused my mind and generally gave me a more positive outlook.
