I can't pinpoint exactly why I fell so in love with the YSL Rose Baby Doll nail polish all those months ago, but I did. Being the cash strapped student I was (and in fact still am) I never managed to get my hands on the hot-pink shade but the colour itself has remained on my mind all this time. It was mid-2013 that the collection was officially released and ever since I've had repeated run-ins with potential dupes, none of which have managed to entirely fit the bill. That was until I picked up the Barry M Hi-Shine Gelly Nail Paint in 'Pomegranate'; probably as close as I've gotten to the real deal.
Before this the only other Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint I'd tried was Lychee; a much-hyped nude shade that I still wear pretty regularly to this day. This time the Boots 3 for 2 got the best of me and I came away with a few new shades to add to the collection, all of which have amazing staying power and a truly slick, glossy finish. They probably come a close second to the Rimmel Salon Pro polishes in terms of being one of the nicest formulas I've tried and the colour range has expanded massively over the past couple of years, so much so that there are still quite a few shades that I can't wait to get my mitts on soon. Two coats of Pomegranate is enough for a completely opaque, high shine finish that lasts around a week or so before any touch ups are needed.
