Nail colour trends aren't something I usually buy into. White was the colour last summer and I successfully refrained from trying it myself; although that was largely due to me worrying that my pale skin would look even more ghostly in comparison.
This year there's one shade I keep seeing crop up; slate grey. After a little rummage through my collection I found that I don't own anything on the monochrome spectrum and subsequently purchased the Illamasqua Nail Varnish in DWS when spotted in my local TK Maxx. Described as a 'cement grey', it looks surprisingly chic and wearable when applied to the nails. I've never tried anything from Illamasqua before, but the formula of this has really impressed me so far. After the first coat I was a little worried about the consistency, but a second application led to a truly opaque, glossy finish. I think it would look wicked with a matte topcoat too, although I haven't branched away from my comfort zone quite that much just yet.
