Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge | I can't even remember the last time that I used a sponge to apply foundation; probably way back in my early teens. It's taken a little bit of getting used to, but I really, really like this. It blends makeup beautifully with minimal effort and provides a lighter finish to the skin.
Smashbox Limitless Eye Shadow in 'Idol' | my love of the MAC Longwear Paint Pots is well documented and this admittedly bears a lot of similarities, although it is a little less creamy. Even so, it lasts all day and doesn't smudge or crease on the lids. These one-sweep cream shadows are my saviours and it's a beautiful shade, too.
Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder | I love Vichy products, but this sadly doesn't really do it for me. It's a translucent powder but I can't help but feel that the white base leaves a little residue behind and makes me look even more washed out than normal. It leaves a beautiful satin finish, but I definitely need to layer on the bronzer to add dimension to the face after use.
Benefit Roller Lash Mascara | I didn't have high hopes for Benefit's newest release, but after picking up my free sample in this month's Elle I can say that I'm suitably impressed. A little on the clumpy side, but with enough length and lift to make up for it.
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer | primers aren't my thing and probably never will be - although I do like to have one on side for truly special occasions (a very rare occurrence). It leaves a soft, velvety finish to the skin and allows makeup to sit nicely on top - although I'm still not entirely convinced that it's a must have in my collection.
Maybelline Colour Drama Lipstick in 'Nude Perfection' | I can't compare this to the Nars Velvet Pencils as I've never tried them, but the formula is a little hit and miss. I have dry lips anyway so those blessed with naturally soft pouts will probably love these, although I did find it to cling a little despite not being truly matte.
Benefit Fake Up Concealer | as fresh and hydrating as it promises, I think I have a soft spot for Benefit concealers. I loved Erase Paste and, although this doesn't offer quite as much coverage, I love this for brightening and illuminating the eye area, too. Maybe not one for 6am starts, but it's a good'un all the same.
