New Year has never been my favourite holiday. Once Christmas is over I'm almost immediately resigned to the fact that the festivities are done for the year and life has to go back to normal. The grinch doesn't have a patch on me. Even so, NYE parties are the perfect excuse to experiment a little and inject some much needed glamour into this time of year.
I used the Clarins Everlasting Foundation* all over the skin as I wanted something with a fairly flawless coverage that I could count on in terms of longevity. I then picked the Estee Lauder Double Wear Concealer for very much the same reasons, blending it around the eyes, nose and over any areas of redness and discolouration. I then set my base in place (ha) with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light, a finely milled, luminous powder that keeps things looking fresh without appearing overdone.
As usual I turned to the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade for my brows. This product is as sweat proof, dance proof and rain proof as they come; all of which are more than likely to factor into NYE celebrations. A little of the Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Powder Pink* was patted onto my cheeks to give a soft flush with a natural, glowing finish.
After prepping with MAC's Paint Pot in Camel Coat, I packed the Clarins Ombre Matte Eyeshadow in Rosewood* onto the lids and blended it out with a fluffy brush. I then tight-lined the eyes with MAC's Coffee Eye Pencil, smudging and blending the colour along the upper and lower lash-lines for more of a smoked out finish. A little of the Burberry Sheer Eyeshadow in Gold Pearl was dusted over the top for a little more evening glamour, before I applied lashings of the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara to the top and bottom lashes. To finish, I applied the Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Colour in Pink Rose directly from the bullet.
