Upon first look theBalm's Bahama Mama bronzer, eyeshadow and contour powder seems a little daunting, especially for those of us with fair skin. It's no secret that I'm not a fan of contouring, but even so this little compact has become a must have over recent weeks. Easy to blend and with a truly matte finish, the powder manages to add warmth and dimension to the skin without being too overbearing.
As with any product like this the trick really is in the blend. Although I like to map the powder out onto the skin using a Real Techniques Contour Brush, I do tend to go in with something bigger and fluffier to really buff it out and keep the finish as natural as possible. Although I would recommend a light hand, I have had the occasional mishap and have ended up applying a little more than I had intended. Even so, the powder is so easy to blend it's never really been a huge problem. The packaging isn't my cup of tea (although I know plenty of people that love theBalm's retro branding), although the little mirror contained inside the compact comes in especially handy. For a bronzer novice this has become a surprising staple and a product that I've really been enjoying playing around with.
