A new watch has been top of my wishlist for a while now, so when my parents gave me a little birthday money to treat myself with I knew exactly what I would spend it on.
Well.. not exactly. Choosing the style and model of the watch was a long and painful process; but I'm so glad I waited as eventually I found just what I'd been looking for. In the end I went for the Skagen Ladies Ditte watch in black, although the straps themselves are actually more of a dark grey. I'm chuffed with it. I've always kept to dainty watches in the past but this time I knew I wanted something a little more statement, although having abnormally small wrists posed a bit of a problem with many of the options I tried. The Ditte watch fits the bill just perfectly, being large enough to make an impact but not so big that it engulfs my entire arm. The face itself is also relatively thin, making it feel super comfortable and lightweight despite it being bigger than other watches I own.
Skagan are a Danish brand and it really shows in the sleek, minimal design. The face and straps are dark grey as opposed to black, which makes it a little unique but still means it goes with just about everything in my wardrobe. Rose gold usually isn't my bag but I make an exception for the detailing on this, which again is different enough to add some extra interest but not so much so that it takes away from the simple design.
