Life

  • It's been so long since I last sat down and wrote a post like this which is crazy as they really are some of my favourites to read. In the grand scheme of things very little has actually happened over the past couple of months, but I sometimes feel as though typing the little details out myself can put things into perspective and make everything seem a bit less overwhelming.
  • Admittedly I've taken a bit of a step back from blogging recently, both in terms of writing my own content and reading other people's. It's definitely not intentional; I just haven't felt as if my head has really been in the right place and I always think the best thing to do in that situation is to sit back and take a breather. Even so, I'm beginning to experience some fantastic opportunities that have come as a result of my little blog and I'm so excited to start sharing some of them. I feel as though the creative spark is half lit again and I'm starting to get back into my stride; although admittedly my routine of scheduling and planning posts weeks in advance has really fallen by the wayside (oops).
  • Alongside blogging I've been really enjoying making more YouTube videos lately and the feedback I've received from them has managed to put the biggest smile on my face. There's something so much more daunting about talking to a camera but to know that people actually bother watching me ramble is incredibly humbling and a really nice feeling.
  • A few weeks ago I finally sat my first year exams and officially ended the first of my three years at university. The final few months were pretty difficult for personal reasons and it was a huge relief to eventually finish for the summer and be able to take a little time out; although admittedly I'm not quite sure what to do with myself now. I've learnt that although I can't stand the concept of routine it's actually how I work best. Life without one seems to lead to an awful lot of unproductive days simply because I can't work out what order I should be doing things in or ways to manage my time properly.
  • The last week or so was spent as my parent's house which was lovely; I rarely get to see my family (especially for such a long period of time) so going back home is always a bit of a luxury. Our trip was cut short which was a bit of a pain, although it's definitely for good reason as my boyfriend and I managed to secure our deposit on a gorgeous little flat earlier today. We'd just lost out on the same one last year and were so disappointed, so to see it go up again and to have the opportunity to call it home is really exciting. We move next month so there's lots of prep in store but I can't wait to finally get settled in (and buy stacks of new furniture... cough cough).
