Review | La Roche Posay Redermic R

It's no secret by now that La Roche Posay is a brand that falls into my '100% trust' category - alongside the producers of the majority of products in my daily routine, such as Origins and REN. I have dry, sensitive skin that's prone to breakouts so when I find a brand that agrees with me I stick with it. I was recently given the chance to test out 'Redermic R', one of LRP's most recent releases that's due to hit UK shelves soon. Primarily branded as an anti-aging cream, I was initially a little skeptical as to how much of an effect it would have on my teenage skin. After a little more research however I found out that it's meant to be fab at reducing redness, discolouration and generally brightening the complexion - something which definitely had my attention caught!

I apply this in the morning after cleansing and before my moisturiser, giving it a good 10 minutes or so to sink into the skin and start working its magic. It's a light green, creamy serum that applies nicely to the skin and practically disappears when it's massaged in. Described as an 'intensive treatment', this isn't too rich or heavy to be used in the day time, although when you choose to apply it is completely up to you! The main pull of Redermic R is that it contains anti-aging wonder ingredient Retinol but is still suitable for sensitive skins. I have a face that's prone to getting easily irritated by things like this but I haven't had any problems so far; in fact my skin seems to lap it up. Upon first use I noticed that my complexion was a little more radiant and things had been evened out a little, I also feel as though makeup blends and sits better when I use this under my moisturiser. I didn't witness miracles but I think those with more mature skin are likely to benefit from this a lot more than myself. I've been using this for a little while now and I do definitely think my overall complexion is more even - I usually wake up in the mornings with red eyes and a lot of discolouration, but that's eased a bit which is nice. I'm keen to try using it in the evenings and see how much of a difference that makes, I just have so many serums and treatments on rotation that it's hard to squeeze this one in!

Whilst I can't comment on the anti-aging effects of this cream I am impressed with how much more radiant and dewy my skin looks; making it worth a repurchase for me. I've found in the couple of weeks that I've been using this I'm needing less concealer to cover red patches too - a definite bonus for me. I'd love to know how it works for mature skin as I've heard great things, but for now I'm content with the job it does!
