Loreal Skin Perfection Cleansing Oil

Loreal Skin Perfection Cleansing Oil - £7.99

I can't believe it myself but until I purchased this in Superdrug a little while ago I'd never used a cleansing oil before. None. At all. Not even tried one. Shocking for a self confessed beauty oil addict like myself! I've done a couple of reviews on other products from Loreal's new 'Skin Perfection' range on my blog before and have had mixed opinions. Whilst the products work well and are effective at the jobs they aim to do, I've found everything else from the range a little too harsh for me. I'd expected the scrub to be a bit on the tough side, but was surprised to find that the Micellar Water was also playing havoc with my sensitive skin! Despite all this, when I saw the Cleansing Oil at better than half price in Superdrug I couldn't resist. A sucker for skincare in general, the idea of discovering a brand new wonder product for around the £3 mark was more than enough to draw me in!

For me, the main appeal of cleansing oils is their promise to add moisture and boost skins radiance; not drying the skin out as many other cleansers seem to. I've used a cleanser from the range before and was disappointed by how tight it made my skin feel after use, but I've had no such issue with this. I apply 2-3 pumps of the clear oil to dry skin, massaging it in and then waiting a few minutes before rinsing with warm water. The oil can be used everywhere on the face including the lips, eyelids and lashes, without upsetting delicate skin or causing any irritation.

Promising to 'dissolve' even waterproof make up; this reminds me of micellar water but with an oil-like formula. It really is a lovely product to apply and has a similar scent to a lot of other Loreal products I've used. As this is an oil it can get a little messy and I would definitely recommend standing near a sink to apply this as your hands will need a good rinse afterwards! It works a hell of a lot better than I initially expected it would at removing my make up; I usually need to clean away any little bits left around my eyes with Bioderma afterwards, but that's to be expected as I tend to wear quite a few lashings of mascara! The rest of my face is left completely clean however and my skin feels incredibly smooth and soft after using this; there's none of the tight, dry feeling that I get with some cleansers. I use this every evening and whilst I find that my skin is left looking more radiant straight after use I haven't yet seen any long term benefits. As long as it cleans my skin and rids it of any impurities I'm really not fussed though! I love this product and will 100% be using it right up until my bottle runs out. It does exactly what it says on the tin and is a fuss-free, kind-to-skin option for make up removal. Although £7.99 is a little pricey for a high street cleanser I wouldn't be surprised if it regularly features in offers promoted by Boots or Superdrug etc, so it's definitely worth keeping an eye out for!
