Sleek True Colour Lipstick in 'Barely There' - £4.99
This has been my go-to lippy for a little while now so I figured it was about time it got a mention on my blog! It was the first and (still) the only purchase I've made from the Sleek range which can be found online or in Superdrug stores up and down the country. I'd been looking for a long-lasting shade that would work for everyday use or for the evening time if I'm going for a more natural, subtle lip.
I bought this slightly on a whim and am glad I didn't research any swatches beforehand as I really don't think many of them do this justice. 'Barely There' is part of Sleek's True Colour Lipstick collection and has a sheer finish, although they also have a range of colours that are more matte. I prefer a matte look on my lips but I don't find this is too sheer at all and tend to achieve the look I want by applying two layers of this and pressing my lips against a piece of tissue paper to remove it's shine and give my lips a 'stained' appearance.
For £4.99 this lipstick is extremely well pigmented and glides on like a dream. It's creamy, smooth and the sheer finish means it's moisturising on the lips too; perfect for winter! The name suggests that this is supposed to be a truly natural shade but I find that it looks gorgeous against my fair skin and appears almost coral/pink in colour. The formula of this lipstick really is amazing for the price and is comparable to many of the high end lipsticks I own. I would suggest this is an ideal choice for those with fair skin as I find it extremely flattering, but it's perhaps a little too light/pink-toned for those with darker complexions.
Usually I'm not a fan of wearing pink on my lips but this has definitely won me over and I've reached for it a lot since I purchased it. As this is the only shade I've bought from the range so far I can't really comment on Sleek lipstick in general, but my experience with this has definitely made me keen to try more from the brand!
