MUA Pro-Base Fixing Mist

M.U.A Pro-Base Fixing Mist - £5 (currently £4)

MUA are on of my favourite high street beauty brands; if not my absolute favourite. I follow their blog on here (muacosmetics) and always get really excited by the announcement of new products to the range. This new year they're bringing out some amazing sounding things for such reasonable prices (as always!) but nothing has excited me as much as the launch of their new 'fixing mist'. I've been on the lookout for something like this for ages now but have consistently been put off by the price, with products such as Urban Decay's 'All Nighter' spray retailing at £19. At just 60ml this is a relatively small bottle for a fixing spray but I figured it was a good place to start so that I could decide whether or not a product like this is right for me. It's been available online for a little while now but was only released in selected Superdrug stores yesterday (January 4th) and it's currently on an introductory offer at just £4; so I suggest you head down to your nearest store fast!

As with most MUA products this really is amazing quality for the price you pay. The spray is super fine and although it feels 'wet' on the face upon application this feeling doesn't last long and it soon makes my skin feel refreshed without leaving any kind of residue. I apply my make up as normal and spritz this onto my face from arms length as instructed. The spray doesn't have any particular smell (yay) and it gives my skin a radiant, youthful glow with just a pump or two.

In terms of the products main promise of fixing make up in place, I'm fairly on the fence. I've used this with a few foundations so far and have noticed a slight difference in their lasting power, but really nothing special. I haven't tried any other fixing sprays so I can't comment on whether this is a trait of the MUA mist or just fixing sprays in general. It could even just be a personal thing with my skin, but I just don't find the results that amazing.

(ahem... excuse the chipped nail polish)

Don't get me wrong, I do really like this product and will definitely continue using it for its refreshing and hydrating properties. It doesn't magically seal my make up to my face as suggested, but for £4 I really wasn't expecting it to! The bottom line is that for such an affordable product this is definitely worth it. It keeps my skin smooth and feeling comfortable throughout the day and gets rid of that 'made up' feeling that certain cosmetics can leave you with. My skin has a tendency to look a little dull and 'blah' in the winter and this adds that little boost of moisture it craves so I'd definitely repurchase.
