Collection 2000 Extreme 24h Felt Liner Review

Collection 2000 Extreme 24h Felt Liner Pen - £2.99

I'll be the first to admit that I'm no pro when it comes to liquid eyeliner. Smooth, straight lines and flicks definitely don't come naturally to me and so I often find myself leaning towards felt pen liners due to them (supposedly) being super easy to use. For years I used the Bourjois version until I bought a couple that seemed to have dried out a lot before purchase, so a few months ago I decided to give this a go!

As you can probably tell from the picture above the quality of the packaging on this product isn't great, but I figured it's what's inside that counts! I purchased the pen in Black and wasn't too disappointed with the colour. It's not a complete jet black and does have a slightly grey tinge, but for the price I think that's more than acceptable and it's definitely dark enough for me.

The pen is relatively easy to use although it does have a slight tendency to leak - something that I've read on a lot of other reviews too so it definitely isn't just my particular pen! This isn't too much of an off-put for me though (although my mum might disagree after having to wash my eyeliner - stained sheets!) The nib is the perfect size for precise application and although I still haven't quite mastered the perfect feline flick I feel as if I'm edging ever-closer with this pen.

In terms of staying power I'm slightly on the fence. Collection 2000 brand this as a 24 hour pen and although I agree that the colour is pretty fade resistant I do find that it smudges slightly towards the end of the day; not a pretty sight and not quite worthy of it's 24h name. When removing the liner I do have to take extra caution not to leave a black stain for the next morning too which can be a bit of a pain, but at least it shows it's pretty long wearing! I've had my pen for about 6 months now and haven't found that it's dried out too much yet, although I only use it once or twice a week.

Overall I'm pretty impressed with this and for £2.99 I wouldn't hesitate in repurchasing it. For such a pocket-friendly product it's super quick and easy to use (even for an eyeliner novice like me!) and isn't bad quality either. I find that it's perfect for creating an everyday look, although I may turn to using proper liquid eyeliner when I'm in need of more drama.
