17 Instant Glow Shimmer Brick Review

17 Instant Glow Shimmer Brick in 'Pink Bronze' - £4.99

This product really caught my eye on a recent trip to Boots. I'm guessing it's supposed to be a dupe of Bobbi Brown's famous 'Shimmer Brick' but is at a snip of the price; perfect for me as I've never been overly bothered by blushers and bronzers so they're certainly not products I'd consider spending a bomb on!

The 17 version comes in two shades; Gold Bronze and Pink Bronze. As I'm fairly pale skinned I snapped up the pink as I felt it would be most suited to my complexion. The shimmer bricks contain four shades of pink/golden powder which I prefer to use swirled together with a large blusher brush, although you could just as easily use one or two shades at a time. Upon first look the shimmer brick contains a hell of a lot of just that; shimmer. Each of the colours look almost sparkly when inside the packaging which I have to admit did make me pretty wary at first. Once the product was applied however I didn't notice any sparkle at all really, just a flattering shimmer that gave the skin a healthy, glowing finish. The colours are easy to blend and this isn't as overpowering as I find a lot of blushers and bronzers to be once applied.

Overall I'd definitely buy this product again and I can see it becoming the first blusher I'll ever actually run out of! The shimmer brick is a wonder to apply and left me with a subtle hint of colour that I found complimented my fair skin as opposed to looking shockingly bright against it. I know that some people use the Bobbi Brown version as eye shadow and I'm not sure whether or not that would work with this product as the powder is so fine, but as a bronzer I really can't find any fault with it.
