The Ultimate Gucci Princetown Dupes
It was love at first sight for me and the Gucci Princetown loafers, it's just a shame that my bank account didn't share the sentiment. I spent half the summer trying on various backless loafers and none could quite match them. I think there's something about the shape of the Princetowns that makes them incredibly classic and versatile, more so than any other style that I've come across.
I'm a firm believer in investing in statement pieces like this as and when possible, but I'm not ashamed to say that buying a pair of £370+ loafers isn't a priority for me right now - however much I'd like it to be.
This pair is from Zaful, and they're by far the closest to a Gucci loafer dupe that I've found. They come in at a little over $50 which, by the time you've added in postage costs, is equivalent to around £40. I'm always skeptical about buying things from overseas, but these arrived within a week and I was pleasantly surprised not to be hit with any customs charges, either.
For a cheap pair of shoes I've been really impressed with the quality - the leather is soft enough to mould to the foot, making them even more comfortable with each wear. While I wouldn't usually opt for such a similar dupe, I still haven't found anything else that is quite so flattering in style. It's a good test to see whether I actually will get enough wear from them to justify the real thing, and so far I've rarely worn anything else.
