Bumble & Bumble Brilliantine

Bumble & Bumble Brilliantine

As if I needed another Bb styling product. I'm obsessed with them, which luckily doesn't seem to be quite as damaging to my hair as it is my bank balance. Bumble and Bumble Brilliantine is a product that I can't quite put my finger on, although according to the brand's marketing of it, that's kind of the whole point.

Bb recommend running a tiny amount of this through either damp or dry hair. A little definitely goes a long way, although I've not yet had an experience of overdoing it. No matter how much I use, this somehow manages to give a little extra something to the hair while still managing to feel completely weightless. In terms of what Brilliantine actually does, I'm really not sure. But somehow I like it. It adds grit to my annoyingly soft hair without reaching the matte extreme of something like the Bumble and Bumble Texture Hair (un)Dressing Creme.

I leave my hair to air dry as often as I can and my favourite time to use this is once it's hit that stage of being 75% there. I've taken to scrunching a dollop of this into the hair from root to tip, taking care to focus the main bulk of product on the lengths. It gives that piece-y, beachside vibe that I so long for without completely voiding the hair of any shine or dulling down its colour. Although mine is falling decisively flat at the moment, I'd also fully recommend this product for anybody with a fringe. It adds body to the hair without feeling at all greasy or heavy, allowing me to make the most of what I've got and sometimes even manage to get that sexy, choppy, Stevie Nicks-esque thing going on. In my own head, at least. Ahem.
