I'd go as far as to say that Essie's Bahama Mama nail polish has more than earned its stripes in the cult beauty elite. For weeks on end I trawled the aisles of Boots and Superdrug in the hopes of getting my hands on a bottle, only to be faced with the sorry sight of an empty stand time and time again. Eventually I was successful, although by that time another similar shade had turned my eye; Rimmel's Salon Pro Nail Polish in Urban Purple.
The two look virtually identical in the bottle, although when applied I'd say that Rimmel's option does have a tendency to lean a little more pink. That said, the difference in formula more than makes up for that in my eyes with the Salon Pro polishes holding their own as probably my favourite range of all time. From the wide brush to the unbeatable longevity, I haven't tried a single polish in the collection and been disappointed. Urban Purple is a wearable, versatile shade that still manages to attract the odd compliment every now and again and I couldn't be more pleased with it. It's my latest fall back and has joined the ranks of the very few polishes that I've removed and reapplied straight away.
