First up is Rimmel's Wonder'full Mascara*. I haven't owned a Rimmel mascara in ages so I was really keen to see how this new release would fair, although unfortunately it has left me (and my lashes) feeling a little flat. The main selling point is the argan oil infused formula; great for soft, conditioned lashes, not so great for providing any real staying power or holding a curl. The formula adds a subtle amount of volume when initially applied but it definitely doesn't last throughout the day. I don't hate it, but I certainly do think that there are far better options out there on the high street - Max Factor and L'oreal, I'm looking at you. (Heads up: the packaging also makes me shudder).
The only other makeup piece that I've picked up recently is the Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Colour in the shade Pink Rose. I have a full review of this coming up soon (including swatches) so I wont go in to massive amounts of detail, but so far so good. It's a pretty, plummy pink that suits my taste for more grown up lip shades without looking too mature when applied. I don't actually own too many things from Bobbi Brown but I'm really excited to build my collection up - watch this space. As I'm generally going a little lipstick crazy at the moment I've also been trying the Malin + Goetz Lip Moisturiser* in a desperate bid to prep my pout accordingly. A quick pat of this stuff over the lips keeps them feeling soft, supple and hydrated; although I do think there any more budget friendly options that do exactly the same job. Either way I love Malin + Goetz as a brand and I'm so far super impressed; I'm just not certain that a repurchase will be on the cards.
