When I think of my perfect nail polish for Autumn/Winter, Clinique's Black Honey Nail Enamel pretty much fits the bill exactly. A deep red/black, it's the ideal option for a vamped up, sophisticated look and it's been one of my go-tos this season. It actually reminds me of the highly coveted Chanel Rouge Noir, albeit with a slightly less obvious red undertone and a slightly more acceptable price tag.
I own a few of the Clinique Nail Enamel's now and I've mentioned before that the formula really hasn't impressed me that much. I've tried each of the shades with a couple of different top coats and the wear time continues to be pretty poor; although for the first day or so after application this shade really does look beautiful on the nails. When applied in thin layers the dry time is pretty good, although at least 3 of them are needed for a truly opaque finish. There's definitely down sides to this one, but the shade itself more than enough makes up for the flaws in the formula; plus it's pretty damn glossy, too. If you're after a luxe vampy shade to see you through the last dregs of winter - this gets a good 3/4 of a thumbs up from me.
